StoryCamp

Make your own fantastic tale! Write it! Perform it! Draw it!

StoryCamp, under the creative guidance of Marie-Louise Miller, strives to give children tools to exercise their imaginations. Campers take a fresh look at Grimm’s original fairy tales to go on their own fantastic storytelling journey.  Together, they challenge convention and make their own magic.  They ask tough questions!  Where did Snow White’s evil stepmother get that mirror?  How does the Beast end up in an enchanted castle all alone?  Who is Rumpelstiltskin really?

Storytelling can be a solo act, or students can work on a story in small groups. In addition to reading a wide variety of fairy tales, the camps feature afternoon workshops with painters and musicians.  At the end of the week, campers participate in a presentation for parents.  This is a creative spin on teaching the art of oral storytelling for today’s kids.
