Summer Camps

We host three creative and fun camps to keep kids of all ages engaged, entertained and artistically fit over the summer months.  Each is led by expert professionals in their fields.

SummerArts is organized as a series of multi-disciplinary workshops for children entering grades 3 – 9 who want to explore the literary, visual, and performing arts. The program is staffed by artists from these fields who are committed to their art AND working with young people.

At JazzCamp, students will have a chance to immerse themselves in music, playing with dedicated peers and learning from some of New York City’s finest musician/educators. All instrumentalists and vocalists entering grades 5 – 12 are welcome. We recommend two years of prior playing or singing experience.

In this storytelling camp, students will spend a week spinning their very own Grimm stories into whole worlds full of intrigue and magic. As the director, you choose which characters to follow, how the story evolves, and who your hero will be. You’ll design the settings and clothes, map out the world of your story, flesh out characters and their conversations, and practice the great art of narration.

RiverArts aims to make its programs accessible to all, without cost as a barrier to participation. Thanks to generous underwriters, we offer scholarships by application each year.
